LOS ANGELES -
Michael Jackson is "reviewing and evaluating" proposals for his future including several offers to perform in Las Vegas, his spokeswoman said Tuesday, but he doesn't feel any pressure to make a quick decision. Raymone K. Bain confirmed that, after a period of globe-trotting, Jackson is currently living in Las Vegas.
"Mr. Jackson has been presented numerous proposals — proposals which he has not solicited, but were presented to him, several of which include performing in Las Vegas," Bain said in a press release. "Mr. Jackson is currently reviewing and evaluating each proposal. He does not believe that he is under any time constraint for making his decisions."
No details of the offers were released. Bain could not be immediately reached by phone.
The release was issued to counteract a number of false rumors, she stated, including one that Jackson has failed to find a Las Vegas casino for a show and another that he would soon appear on "American Idol."
"Mr. Jackson did not move to Las Vegas to shop a Vegas show," Bain said. "Mr. Jackson is in Las Vegas because he likes the city and found it a convenient location to record with the artists, songwriters and producers who are working with him in the studio."
Bain dismissed the "Idol" report.
"Mr. Jackson has no current plans to appear or perform on `American Idol,'" she said.
The pop icon took up residence in Las Vegas a few months ago after traveling in Europe, living in the Middle Eastern kingdom of Bahrain and then moving to Ireland. He still maintains his Neverland ranch in Santa Ynez, Calif., but he has not lived there since shortly after he was acquitted of child molestation charges in a sensational trial in 2005.
I would be happy to seehim back on stage again. He's performed in Vegas, he knows the town, everything. If he did perform, all the more better!
